We are committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of the women we serve.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see a world where East African immigrant women are celebrated for their talents and contributions, thriving in their communities with dignity and independence. We envision a future where every woman we serve has the opportunity to achieve economic self-sufficiency, personal growth, and social integration through the skills and connections fostered at The Sewing Spot.

Sewing Skills for a Better Tomorrow.

Empower, Create, Thrive.

What We Do

We are committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of the women we serve. Through partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and volunteers, The Sewing Spot connects women with resources, mentorship, and opportunities that extend beyond sewing. Together, we are stitching a tapestry of hope, resilience, and success for East African immigrant women.

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE

Welcome to The Sewing Spot! Our organization was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: to empower East African immigrant women through the art of sewing. As an immigrant myself, I understand the challenges of adapting to a new country while seeking economic independence and personal fulfillment. Through our programs, we not only teach valuable sewing skills but also build a supportive community where women can connect, grow, and thrive. I am immensely proud of the progress we’ve made and the lives we’ve touched, and I am grateful for the dedication of our volunteers, supporters, and participants who make this journey possible. Together, we are stitching brighter futures, one thread at a time.
